JD's is not your typical babbitt shop. Everything is centrifugally cast giving you a better​ bearing. This includes tilt pads. Once the pads are machined to customer specifications, we conduct a bluing test with a mandrel to confirm contact. We also build and grind shims to set your pads to the proper clearance, including any required design offsets. Every tilt pad will meet your UT / PT requirements. For any copper/chrome alloy products, we have a procedure to achieve long term bonding without sudden and complete disbond.
